Putin to add 40 new Nuclear ICBM’s to Russian Arsenal

In a very dangerous game aimed at tipping the Nuclear Balance in the Kremlin’s favour a further 40 Nuclear ICBM’s (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) will be added to the Russia’s already massive stockpile. Mr Putin attended an Arms fair this week and stated that the new ICBM’s would “be able to overcome even the most technically advanced anti-missile defence systems” In light of ever weakening conventional armed forces Russia has steadily increased its Nuclear Arsenal whilst the US and Europe have sought to reduce them creating a dangerous imbalance which goes against the principles of M.A.D (Mutually Assured Destruction) however it should be noted that NATO still holds enough Nuclear Weapons […]

The B52’s have been operating out of Fairford and carrying out mine-laying missions in the Baltic sea. Fairford has also seen rotations of the B2 Stealth Bomber during BaltOps in a clear demonstration of the US Air Forces Global Strike capability. According to […]

UK to host US Nuclear Missiles in face of Russian Agression

Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has said that the UK could host US Medium Range Nuclear Missiles for the first time since the INF (Intermediate Nuclear Forces) Treaty in the 1990’s. Prior to the INF Treaty the UK hosted US BGM Gryphon Ground Launched Cruise Missiles (GLCM’s) at RAF Greenham Common and RAF Molesworth. These Nuclear Cruise Missiles were designed as an immediate response to an Soviet attack on a NATO country and could be attacking Moscow in under 2 hours from launch. Speaking on the Andrew Marr show, Mr Hammond said that Government could look at the placing of US missiles adding “We’ve got to send a clear signal to Russia […]

Britain To Get New Maritime Patrol Aircraft in £2billion Boost

The Sun has reported today that a “senior defence source” has told them that the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is to get a £2billion windfall to rebuild Britains maritime patrol capabilities, in particular, anti-submarine warfare. The deal which is likely to include aircraft such as the Boeing P8 Poseidon is designed to replace the capabilities lost when britain scrapped teh Nimrod MR2 patrol aircraft in 2011. Britain had intended to replace the ageing Nimrod MR2 aircraft with a newer Nimrod MR4 but this was scrapped in the Strategic Defence Review at a cost of around £789million. There has been an increase of incidents involving foreign submarines, in particular, russian submarines […]

Russian Chief of Staff Issues Stark Warning to NATO

The Kremlins Chief of Staff, General Valery Gerasimov, has issued a warning that “Moscow will defend itself in the face of NATO aggression” claiming that the NATO Excercise Joint Warrior is clearly aimed as a threat to Russia. Gerasimov claims that there has been a serious increase in NATO activity along Russia’s borders, which is of course true but in response to Russian aggression in the Ukraine and Russia’s increase in long range bomber flights across NATO countries. In further evidence that a new cold war is underway Gerasimov claims that Russia has found US spy satellites “masquerading as space junk” and that the US is developing high accuracy long […]

Russia Tries to Spy on NATO Excersises in UK

The Royal Air Force (RAF) has been scrambled to intercept 2 Russian Air Force aircraft close to UK airspace. The aircraft, believed to be TU95 “Bear” types were intercepted by Eurofighter Typhoon Interceptors from RAF Lossiemouth. They later turned back and headed back up the norweigan coast towards Russia. It is no suprise that multiple aircraft have been seen in the area given that NATO Excercise Joint Warrior is under way across the UK which many naval aspects taking place off the coast of Scotland. In addition to the overhead monitoring, NATO has been forced to allow Russian military experts to attend Joint Warrior under a european arms treaty. “A […]

Doomsday Clock Wound Forward by 2 Minutes

It’s now 3 minutes to midnight according to the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, a move that see’s it at its closest point to midnight since 1984. The symbolic clock is used to show how close the world is to “armeggedon” according to the BoAS. Whilst it was conceived during the cold war to show how close the world was to nuclear annihilation other factors such as climate change are now factored in. The BoAS said: “Unchecked climate change, global nuclear weapons modernizations, and outsized nuclear weapons arsenals pose extraordinary and undeniable threats to the continued existence of humanity, and world leaders have failed to act with the speed or on […]

Defenceless and Weak – SNP, Plaid Cymru and Green Party’s Plans for Britain

On May 7th 2015 the UK goes to the polls to vote for its next government and the days of the traditional 2 horse race are long gone. With neither the Conservatives or Labour expected to achieve a majority the likelihood of another coalition is high. It also gives the opportunities for smaller parties to get in on the act. One thing that has raised its head once again as a result is Trident, Britains Nuclear Deterrent System. Trident II Launch Trident is an old system and needs upgrading and with east/west tensions rising by the day, that has never been more vital, yet The Scottish National Party (SNP), Plaid […]

NATO is Staring Down the Bear as Cold War II Heats Up

If you’re still in any doubt about the validity of Cold War II then recent rising tensions between NATO and Russia should dispel that. Its becoming accepted that Ukraine is now effectively the front line of this new freeze in east west relations with Russia arming rebel soldiers outside of their borders and send men and tanks to fight the Ukrainian Army. Whilst Angela Merkel and François Holland hold pseudo peace talks with Vladimir Putin the Kremlin has continued its party rhetoric of subterfuge and denial. The situation in Ukraine is about Russia wanting to control its borders and not wishing to have NATO any further on its own doorstep […]

Russian Bears Disrupt UK Civil Aviation

The Foreign Office has revealed that Russia’s Out of Area Operations using their TU-95H “Bear” long range bombers had caused disruption to UK civil flights on Wednesday 28th January 2015 with two of the aircraft coming “within 25 miles” of the UK. As usual they were promptly escorted away from UK airspace by RAF Typhoon Interceptors but it continues Russia’s growing effort to test UK Air Defenses and response by attempting to penetrate it’s sovereign airspace. Recently Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said the UK was concerned about the “extremely aggressive probing” of its airspace by Russian Bombers. The threat posed to civil aviation is increasing as the bombers do not […]
