Prior to the INF Treaty the UK hosted US BGM Gryphon Ground Launched Cruise Missiles (GLCM’s) at RAF Greenham Common and RAF Molesworth. These Nuclear Cruise Missiles were designed as an immediate response to an Soviet attack on a NATO country and could be attacking Moscow in under 2 hours from launch. Russia’s Defense Ministry has confirmed that it is to renew production of the its long range strategic nuclear bomber the Tupolev TU-160 (NATO Codename BLACKJACK). The TU-160 first flew in 1981 and was believed to be Russia’s answer to the Rockwell B1-B Lancer and the type cerainly has many similarities, a trait often found with Soviet aircraft. Russian Chief of Staff Issues Stark Warning to NATO

The Kremlins Chief of Staff, General Valery Gerasimov, has issued a warning that “Moscow will defend itself in the face of NATO aggression” claiming that the NATO Excercise Joint Warrior is clearly aimed as a threat to Russia. Gerasimov claims that there has been a serious increase in NATO activity along Russia’s borders, which is of course true but in response to Russian aggression in the Ukraine and Russia’s increase in long range bomber flights across NATO countries. In further evidence that a new cold war is underway Gerasimov claims that Russia has found US spy satellites “masquerading as space junk” and that the US is developing high accuracy long […]

The aircraft, believed to be TU95 “Bear” types were intercepted by Eurofighter Typhoon Interceptors from RAF Lossiemouth. They later turned back and headed back up the norweigan coast towards Russia. In addition to the overhead monitoring, NATO has been forced to allow Russian military experts to attend Joint Warrior under a european arms treaty. “A […]

Defenceless and Weak – SNP, Plaid Cymru and Green Party’s Plans for Britain

On May 7th 2015 the UK goes to the polls to vote for its next government and the days of the traditional 2 horse race are long gone. With neither the Conservatives or Labour expected to achieve a majority the likelihood of another coalition is high. It also gives the opportunities for smaller parties to get in on the act. One thing that has raised its head once again as a result is Trident, Britains Nuclear Deterrent System. Trident II Launch Trident is an old system and needs upgrading and with east/west tensions rising by the day, that has never been more vital, yet The Scottish National Party (SNP), Plaid […]

NATO is Staring Down the Bear as Cold War II Heats Up

If you’re still in any doubt about the validity of Cold War II then recent rising tensions between NATO and Russia should dispel that. Its becoming accepted that Ukraine is now effectively the front line of this new freeze in east west relations with Russia arming rebel soldiers outside of their borders and send men and tanks to fight the Ukrainian Army. Whilst Angela Merkel and François Holland hold pseudo peace talks with Vladimir Putin the Kremlin has continued its party rhetoric of subterfuge and denial. The situation in Ukraine is about Russia wanting to control its borders and not wishing to have NATO any further on its own doorstep […]

The Foreign Office has revealed that Russia’s Out of Area Operations using their TU-95H “Bear” long range bombers had caused disruption to UK civil flights on Wednesday 28th January 2015 with two of the aircraft coming “within 25 miles” of the UK. As usual they were promptly escorted away from UK airspace by RAF Typhoon Interceptors but it continues Russia’s growing effort to test UK Air Defenses and response by attempting to penetrate it’s sovereign airspace. Recently Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said the UK was concerned about the “extremely aggressive probing” of its airspace by Russian Bombers. The threat posed to civil aviation is increasing as the bombers do not […]

Finnish air defences have reported “unusually intense” air activity by Russian Bombers and Fighters in the past few weeks as Russia continues to test NATO air defences.
